Through Our IMPACTO Takeda Resource Group

We believe in the power of unity and know the experiences of our people play a critical role in helping us achieve our greater purpose. That’s why we work year-round to nurture a climate of allyship and belonging through our Takeda Resource Groups (TRGs), like IMPACTO. As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, our community reflects on their history with IMPACTO and proudly embraces their roles as pioneers of change. United by a shared vision, they come together to create a more equitable and vibrant tomorrow.

Blackline Center of Excellence Manager and U.S. Regional Advisor of IMPACTO

Seven years ago, Alexandra Last joined IMPACTO in search of a sense of belonging. Ever since, Alexandra has helped to create a home and sanctuary for those who identify as LatinX and their allies. “My goal has always been to foster a community of unity, inclusivity and empowerment,” she says.

Alexandra has developed into the leader that she is today through IMPACTO's shared values and backgrounds. "I am reminded of the unique strengths I bring to the table," she says.

Alexandra’s ability to succeed in a diverse organization and navigate workplace challenges is a testament to learning from other people’s experiences throughout the IMPACTO network. “Whether it's access to industry leaders, workshops or networking events, IMPACTO has opened doors for me to gain new skills and insights,” she shares.

By leading initiatives on career development, cultural awareness and leadership storytelling, Alexandra pays forward the valuable advice that she’s received along the way. “I have seen firsthand the positive impact that IMPACTO has had on its members, as well as the broader community and the support that our members provide each other is truly inspiring.”

Vivian Medina’s decision to become a member of IMPACTO was influenced by her belief in creating inclusive workspaces and giving back to her community. “When I look at the faces of my leadership, I believe that I can develop into those top positions,” says Vivian, “and I would like for this powerful message to resonate with all of my IMPACTO colleagues.

During her college years, Vivian was unfamiliar with the pharmaceutical industry, and its potential to cultivate an exciting career. Today, she spreads this awareness at IMPACTO-organized recruiting events for diverse talent at state universities and community colleges.

The way Vivian sees it, enhancing skills across leadership, public speaking and networking is key to advancing our career journeys, and she’s grateful to hone them through IMPACTO. “I’ve had the opportunity to interact with senior leadership and global colleagues that I wouldn’t otherwise in my day-to-day work and sharpen soft skills such as presenting for a large audience.”

Junior Human Resources Analyst

Across Takeda, we strive to give our people equitable access to opportunities to achieve their full potential. And in Guilherme Pizzini Reis’s case, this means that he can still participate in a mentoring and networking program while based in Brazil.

"Falamos em Portuguêse" aims to improve language fluency and strengthen connections between participating countries, creating a network of learning and mutual support. “My journey has been deeply influenced by the objectives of this amazing initiative,” says Guilherme.

Guilherme’s involvement with IMPACTO aligns with his commitment to developing our people while simultaneously promoting diversity, equity and inclusion. “I firmly believe that the diversity of languages and cultures enriches our work environment, fosters creativity and strengthens global collaboration,” says Guilherme.

Even from a distance, Guilherme observes how IMPACTO creates a platform to address common challenges and engage allies. “I feel empowered by the exchange of knowledge and collaboration between different cultures,” says Guilherme, “and even if we are not part of a specific group, we can all be agents of change and work together to shape a brighter and more inclusive future.”

The impactful stories of Alexandra, Vivian and Guilherme highlight the importance of collaboration in driving meaningful change, not just within our organization but also in broader society. Learn more about IMPACTO.
