We are currently hiring for a Medical Strategy & Pipeline Lead (all genders) on a permanent contract for our Swiss local office in Glattpark (Opfikon).
ROLE OBJECTIVE
The Medical Strategy & Pipeline Lead will oversee the Medical Advisor Team, ensuring that team members possess the necessary capabilities for their roles and can effectively execute their responsibilities.
This individual will drive the strategy for all Therapeutic Areas (TAs), ensuring alignment with both local and global objectives. This role requires a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape, the ability to navigate cross-functional and matrixed environments, and the capacity to implement global strategies within local contexts effectively.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Leads a team of Medical Advisors, ensuring they are equipped with all capabilities they can fully leverage their expertise in their respective TAs.
- Deliver strategic capability training to the Medical Advisor Team to improve their effectiveness.
- Ensure the adaptation and implementation of global strategy within the local context.
- Plans and coordinates pipeline assets (NPP) to align with strategic objectives and ensures effective handover for launch preparation.
- Build and maintain networks with Global Medical Business Excellence, Global Learning Strategy, and CSEE NPP community teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with top KOLs and stakeholders across Therapeutic Areas.
- Engage in key strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and medical strategy.
- Act as an ambassador for compliance, ethics, and Takeda-ism.
SKILLS and Capabilities
Critical Skills/competencies
- Completed studies in Pharmacy, Medicine, or a scientific field (preferably with a PhD).
- Native level in German or French preferred; excellent conversational English.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience within pharma, preferably in Medical Affairs or clinical research.
- Experience in leading a team and managing direct reports.
- Experience working in a cross-functional and/or matrix environment.
- Strong business acumen to effectively drive strategic decision-making and support the organization’s objectives.
- High level of agility, teamwork skills, and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration.
- A good understanding of clinical developments, clinical studies, and RWE.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Mindset of continuous improvement and innovation
Capabilities
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills to develop and guide the Medical Advisor Team.
- Strategic Planning and Coordination: Strong capabilities in planning and coordinating pipeline assets to develop targeted launch strategies.
- Business and Strategy Alignment: Proficiency in aligning the local TA medical strategy with business and global strategies.
- Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain relationships with KOLs and other key stakeholders.
- Network building: Ability to build networks and collaborate with global teams, ensuring integration and consistency across various platforms.
