Job Description

About the role:

Takeda Round Lake is a large volume pharmaceutical manufacturing facility responsible for supplying plasma-derived therapeutics to market. The Supply Chain Specialist oversees the inventory levels for all raw materials and supplies needed to support the production and warehouse operations. This includes receiving, storage, and material delivery to production on time, on budget, and in compliance with GMP, EHS, and Takeda Quality System. Additional job duties include overseeing distribution channels, 3rd party warehouses, and inventory control accuracy for Takeda. This will also include maintaining supplier relationships and purchasing of all supplies using multiple systems or websites (i.e. SAP Ariba, VWR, Uline). You will have applied technical knowledge to perform complex troubleshooting tasks and administrative competence to organize and lead production activities. You must enforce company policies and regulations and promote Takeda Values. You will spend at least 80% of their time in the warehouse working with the manufacturing and warehouse teams. You will report to the Supply Chain Manager.

How you will contribute:

  • Manage, recommend, and lead the process for filling and packaging schedules to then coordinate all inter-company transfers (i.e. BULK, GRIP, Medline) for on-time delivery of materials to the site.
  • Partner and collaborate with Covington and LA that lots are delivered daily; for Round Lake to support Manufacturing. Escalate and communicate with the manufacturing team of any issues.
  • Maintain inventory levels for all bulk and raw materials to meet the site production schedules.
  • Review appropriate metrics daily, weekly, monthly to all albumin manufacturing sites.
  • Review, manage the storage capacity for all raw materials and bulk albumin.
  • Assist transportation function by directing 3rd party warehouses and carriers when material is being delivered or picked up.
  • Monitor warehouse and production supply items (controlled supply list), create purchase orders.
  • Responsible for managing, and monthly review of all open purchase orders.
  • Department owner for the review and coordination of scrap materials (ORDO process).
  • Perform physical counts, cycle counts, and periodic inventory verification.
  • Oversee and write department and global standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Operate material handling equipment (such as forklifts and pallet-jack).
  • Keep current with all training.
  • Complete relevant paperwork following GDP/GMP guidelines and operate in compliance with FDA, OSHA, and MSDS.
  • Comply with SOPs, GMPs, safety rules and regulations, and departmental procedures.
  • Support and participate in corporate and regulatory inspections.

What you bring to Takeda

  • High School Diploma/GED and 5+ years of related work experience or AA degree and 2+ years related experience or Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, or Supply Chain.
  • Will speak detailed written and oral instructions in English.
  • Proficient in warehouse management systems.
  • Must have previous forklift certification and you will be subject to pass Takeda Forklift certification.

Important Considerations

  • Must be able to carry up to 25 lbs. unassisted and lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Must be able to push/pull > 100 lbs. (with the assistance of material handling equipment).
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time over an 8 or 12-hour shift.
  • May require bending, twisting, reaching overhead, and squatting motions to perform certain tasks.
  • Work indoors and outdoors.
  • Work in warm and cold environments.
  • Work around machinery with moving parts
  • Work around moving objects or vehicles.
  • Work around moving machinery/heavy equipment
  • Work in close proximity to others.
  • Can work on multiple shifts, including weekends and holidays, to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
  • Can work non-traditional work hours or work extended hours.
  • Can work overtime.
