Job Description

Manufacturing Sciences is a multidisciplinary field that focuses on the development, optimization, and implementation of manufacturing processes and technologies. It involves the integration of principles from chemical engineering, biotechnology, materials science, data science and other related disciplines to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production of pharmaceuticals, biologics, and other products.

Job Description:

We are seeking motivated and passionate Summer Interns to join our Manufacturing Sciences team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to ongoing projects in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

1.           Develop and Optimize Processes: Design and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, yield, and product quality.

2.           Support Scale-Up: Transition processes from laboratory-scale to commercial-scale production while maintaining consistency and compliance with regulatory standards.

3.           Implement New Technologies and Harness the power of Data Science: Introduce and integrate advanced technologies using data-derived insights to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

4.           Ensure Quality and Compliance: Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with all regulatory requirements and produce products that meet quality standards.

5.           Troubleshoot and Improve Efficiency: Identify and resolve issues in the manufacturing process to minimize disruptions and enhance operational efficiency.

How You Will Contribute:

•            Assist in research and development of manufacturing processes.

•            Use data science to derive insights for change.

•            Conduct experiments and analyze data to optimize production methods.

•            Support the implementation of new technologies and equipment in the manufacturing process.

•            Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.

•            Document findings and prepare reports for presentation.

Job Requirements:

•            This position will be full-time and require 5 days in the Round Lake office per week.

•            Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Data Science or a related field.

•            Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

•            Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

•            Eagerness to learn and contribute to projects.

•            Previous experience in a laboratory or manufacturing setting is a plus.

Internship Eligibility

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later.
  • The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 22nd) or (June 16th - August 29th).
    • The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames.
  • Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates.
  • Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program.

Takeda Compensation and Benefits Summary

We understand compensation may bean important factor as you consider an internship opportunity. We are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices.

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:

  • Paid sick time

  • Civic Duty paid time off

  • Participation at company sponsored special events

  • Access to on-site fitness center (where available)

  • Commuter Benefit: To offset your work-commute expenses, Takeda provides U.S. employees with a fixed monthly subsidy to be used for either public transportation (transit) or parking.
