About the Role:

As a member of Takeda Oncology, your work will contribute to our bold, inspiring vision: We aspire to cure cancer. As part of the Global Medical Affairs Oncology team, you will report to the Head of Evidence Generation, Global Medical Affairs Oncology. You will work cross-functionally with but not limited to Clinical Operations, Legal, Regulatory, Procurement, Patient Value Access and Safety.

  • Provides direction, development, and oversight of business-specific finance management and critical day-to-day operational connectivity in leading, planning and execution of an aligned finance strategy.

  • Responsible for helping to drive optimal business operations performance through the provision of budget/finance data and analysis to inform leaders of key business decisions.

  • Provides oversight and direction of all contract management operations for GMAO Evidence Generation activities through the cross-functional business processes.

  • Improves organizational performance by aligning people, processes and tools in support of business strategies by translating the broad strategic vision into the tactical details necessary to deliver GMAO financial results that are in support of the GMAO Evidence Generation financial goals.

How you will contribute:

  • Conduct  fair market value (FMV) assessments  of study budgets  in accordance with Takeda policies and procedures. Serve as the Chair of the GMAO Budget Review Committee (BRC).

  • Acts as primary liaison with cross functional teams to support system analytics, and metrics.

  • Helps manage strategic, financial, and operational planning, prepare and present materials to senior leadership as necessary.

  • Identifies key success factors and milestones for financial/contractual operational efficiency and success of integration plans.

  • Align execution and key milestone attainment with Medical and Evidence Generation Leads according to plan and resolve any reporting discrepancies. Lead and implement any required changes based on feedback from senior leadership.

  • Interact with the broader Takeda functions, GMAO Functional Leads in the achievement of key objectives and KPI’s. May represent the Global Evidence Generation Team on a cross-functional team.

  • Provide complex analysis and identification of cost reduction opportunities in GMAO operations and the required remediation activities to meet OBU financial goals and needs. Make suggestions and recommendations to senior leadership based on analysis. Lead and implement approved changes across GMAO Evidence Generation.

  • Orchestrate involvement of appropriate functions/individuals in relevant communications, decisions and working groups.

  • Perform high-level analysis of outcomes of executive-level meetings and provide recommendations for effective execution. Sends follow up communication to senior leadership as needed.

  • Plan, identify, develop and produce appropriate activities, tools and SOPs in collaboration with other Takeda and GMAO functions required to support the processes and effectiveness of operations.

  • Acts as a key liaison for daily activities with such support functions as Finance, OEC, Legal, etc. to ensure proper compliance with GMAO Evidence Generation finance/contracting processes.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, science, or finance.  Master’s/MBA desired with 5+ years relative experience (preferably within Medical Affairs) focused on operations, process execution, financial management and contracting.

  • Strong problem solving and process management skills. Ability to analyze process flows to identify gaps, risks and impediments and implement effective corrective action to increase efficiency and/or improve compliance. Able to communicate alternatives based on underlying drivers.

  • Ability to balance business needs, compliance/regulatory requirements, IT system requirements, detailed business process requirements, timelines and budgets to successfully deliver value added solutions.

  • Business Process Optimization skills with a demonstrated track record of improving operational performance.

  • Transferable experience related to persuasion, negotiation, and influencing skill sets essential.

  • Works independently toward goals and objectives of the organization. Work is checked only to the effectiveness of results obtained, typically requiring a long-term perspective.

  • Operates effectively in a team setting as a leader, facilitator and team member.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, organizational agility and political savvy that result in an ability to work cross functionally and lead matrix teams

  • Effective communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written including ability to synthesize information for senior management.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Up to 10% both domestic and international travel required.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$133,000.00 - $209,000.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
