About the role:


As the Head of Learning Development & DE&I, you will be a strategic leader responsible for shaping and implementing a comprehensive and actionable L&D and DE&I strategy. This role requires a dynamic leader who can drive cultural transformation, develop leadership capabilities, and ensure a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. 

How you will contribute:

Learning & Development (80%):

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a robust L&D strategy that aligns with global HR and business objectives, supporting both individual growth and organizational success. 
  • Leadership Development: Design and implement development programs for leaders at all levels, from first-line managers to senior executives, ensuring they have the skills and mindset to navigate change effectively. 
  • Innovation and Best Practices: Leverage the latest in neuroscience and behavioral science to enhance leadership effectiveness. Stay at the forefront of L&D trends, incorporating innovative digital learning technologies and experiential learning methods. 
  • Program Management: Oversee the full spectrum of L&D initiatives, from skill-building workshops to leadership coaching and mentoring. Lead the local Learning Council to align learning priorities with business needs. 
  • Impact Measurement: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of L&D programs, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with strategic goals. 
  • Budget Management: Plan and manage the L&D budget, optimizing resources to maximize impact and value. 
  • Others: Partner closely with HR Head to develop and engage the Senior Leadership Team, People Leaders Community. Partner closely with Culture, Ethics and Compliance Head to connect roadmaps and activities related to cultural aspects of Leadership. Partner closely with HR Head and HRPs to ensure best definition and implementation of L&D initiatives in synergy with the HR strategy and processes. Act as a Strategic Learning Partner & Game Changer with key internal stakeholders such as Business Leaders, DD&T, Purchasing, BE, Finance.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) (20%):

  • Strategic Development: Craft and refine a DE&I strategy that reflects Takeda’s global vision while addressing local nuances. Develop initiatives that promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and belonging. 
  • Engagement and Advocacy: Act as a key advisor to senior leadership, advocating for DE&I principles and practices. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to enhance DE&I initiatives and outcomes. 
  • Implementation and Monitoring: Guide the DE&I Lead and collaborate with relevant committees to ensure effective execution of DE&I strategies. Monitor and evaluate the impact of these initiatives, adjusting tactics as needed. 
  • Community and External Relations: Build and maintain relationships with external partners to strengthen DE&I efforts, bringing in new insights and practices to benefit the organization. 

What you bring to Takeda:

  • A minimum of 10 years in L&D roles within global organizations, with significant experience in leadership development, cultural transformation, and DE&I. 
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders and diverse teams. Strong strategic thinking with a deep understanding of business needs and how to address them through tailored L&D solutions. 
  • A passion for leveraging digital tools and technologies in learning environments. Experience in designing and delivering cutting-edge learning experiences. 
  • Proven track record of managing and developing teams, fostering a culture of learning, and acting as a role model for others. 
  • Certifications in Business/Team Coaching, Behavioral models, Neuroscience, or equivalent fields are highly desirable. 
  • Adaptable, curious, and optimistic with a strong capacity for empathy and influence. Inspirational leadership style that motivates others and drives change. 
  • Fluent English
